Kathmandu, Jan. 8 -- Fog is likely to persist across most parts of the Tarai over the next 24 hours, while weather conditions in the hills and mountains are expected to remain largely fair, the Meteorological Forecasting Division said.

In its forecast issued at 8 am on Thursday, the division said fog or mist will prevail in most Tarai areas during the day. High hilly and Himalayan regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces are likely to see partly cloudy skies, while the rest of the hilly and Himalayan belt will remain mainly clear.

During the night, fog is expected in many Tarai areas. Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces are forecast to have partly cloudy conditions, with mainly clear weather elsewhere in the hill...
