Kathmandu, Jan. 7 -- Fog is likely across most parts of the Tarai over the next 24 hours, while weather in the hills and mountains is expected to remain largely clear, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.

In its forecast issued at 8am on Wednesday, the division said dense fog or mist would prevail in many Tarai districts during the daytime. Parts of the high hills and Himalayan regions of Koshi, Gandaki and Karnali provinces are likely to see partly cloudy skies, with mainly fair weather elsewhere.

At night, fog is expected to persist in many Tarai areas, while the hilly and Himalayan regions will continue to experience mostly clear conditions.
