Kathmandu, Jan. 5 -- Fog and mist will persist in most parts of the Tarai on Monday, while the weather will remain mainly fair elsewhere, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.

In its 24-hour forecast issued at 8am on Monday, the division said the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Gandaki and Karnali provinces will see partly cloudy conditions. One or two places in the high hilly and Himalayan regions of these provinces may receive light rain or snowfall during the day.

At night, fog is likely at many places in the Tarai. The high hilly and Himalayan regions of Koshi, Gandaki and Karnali provinces will remain partly cloudy, with a chance of light rain or snowfall at one or two locations in Gandaki and Karnali.
