Kathmandu, April 24 -- The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has said that most parts of the country, except for the high mountainous and Himalayan regions, are likely to experience a rise in temperature due to the partial influence of local winds.
Temperatures in the Kathmandu Valley have been steadily increasing in recent days, with the maximum temperature expected to hover between 31 and 33 degrees Celsius today.
The department said that extreme heat is likely in many Tarai areas of Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces, with heatwave conditions expected particularly in the Tarai region of Lumbini Province.
