Kathmandu, Jan. 15 -- The Nepali Congress central committee elected through the party's special general convention has submitted its details to the Election Commission, urging the constitutional body to make a prompt decision on updating the party's official records.

A special general convention of the Congress held in Kathmandu from January 11 to 14, despite dissent from the Sher Bahadur Deuba faction, elected new leadership under Gagan Kumar Thapa.

Thapa made the request after filing an application at the commission, stating that the party's office-bearers and central committee details had changed following the completion of the special general convention, as required by the party statute.
