Kathmandu, June 16 -- Speaker Devraj Ghimire proceeded with the meeting of the House of Representatives on Monday despite obstruction by the opposition lawmakers from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP).
Soon after the meeting commenced, lawmakers from the two parties stood up from their seats in protest. Speaker Ghimire allowed RPP chair Rajendra Lingden to speak, who urged him not to push ahead the House proceedings forcefully while the opposition's concerns remained unresolved.
RSP Chief Whip Santosh Pariyar, speaking next, reiterated the party's demand for the formation of a parliamentary committee to investigate the visit visa scam.
