Kathmandu, April 25 -- The customs officials at the Tribhuvan International Airport on Wednesday arrested a Bangladeshi national with 750 grams of gold hidden in his rectum.

The individual has been identified as 25-year-old Mohammad Abul Hassan of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Hassan had flown into Nepal by a Thai Airways flight. According to the customs officials, the metal detector beeped when Hassan passed through it. The officials checked Hassan but could not find anything. They then checked Hassan with a hand-held metal detector which beeped when the device was near his abdomen area.
