Salyan, Feb. 21 -- Six people were injured while battling a wildfire that broke out in Deurali Community Forest in Bagchaur Municipality-2 on Wednesday. Some suffered burn injuries from the flames, while others were injured after falling from the steep terrain.

According to Ramesh Nepali, chair of the community forest, all the injured are in normal condition following treatment. Nepali said the wildfire, which raged for nearly 35 hours, was finally controlled.

According to Tek Bahadur Rawal, chief of the Division Forest Office, Salyan, the fire damaged 80 hectares of forest land. Despite controlling the fire, the risk remains, and authorities have urged continued vigilance.
