Kathmandu, March 11 -- Police have arrested six individuals accused of defrauding victims of Rs8.5 million under the false pretext of sending them abroad for lucrative overseas employment. The suspects were apprehended following complaints from victims who were promised jobs in various countries.
The arrested individuals include Saru Pariyar from Arughat-4, Gorkha, who was residing in Kathmandu Metropolitan-16; James Rana from Belauri-3, Kanchanpur, living in Tokha-3; Rekha Tuladhar from Kirtipur-6; Rabi Khanal from Nilkantha-9, Dhading, residing in Kathmandu-16; Lalit Bahadur Iwaram from Sirijanga-1, Taplejung, residing in Budhanilkantha-8; and Dipesh Subba Limbu.
