Kalikot, Dec. 18 -- year-old boy died after slipping and falling while on his way to school in Narharinath Rural Municipality-6, Malkot, Kalikot, on Thursday morning, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Ayush Bishwakarma, a Class 8 student at Nanda Devi Secondary School, Serapat, Kalikot.

Inspector Ganesh Gyawali of the District Police Office, Kalikot, said that the incident occurred while the boy was walking from his home to school at around 8.30am.

The boy reportedly slipped on the road and struck a stone, sustaining fatal injuries.

"He had left home early as he was scheduled to attend tuition classes from 9am to 10am before regular classes," Gyawali said after returning from the incident site.
