Kathmandu, Aug. 14 -- A group of 13 lawmakers from the Rastriya Swatantra Party registered a motion of urgent public importance at the federal parliament calling for a discussion on growing air accidents in Nepal.

RSP lawmaker Sobita Gautam submitted the proposal while 12 other lawmakers from her party seconded it.

The proposal seeks to initiate deliberations in the House of Representatives on measures to improve air safety in the country. The lawmakers stated that the aviation regulator and air service providers have not been held accountable despite repeated crashes.

The proposal stressed the need for holding the relevant authorities accountable.
