Kathmandu, May 30 -- The government has allocated Rs6.08 billion for the youth and sports sector for the upcoming fiscal year 2025-26, the highest ever for the sector, an increase of Rs258 million from the current fiscal year.

Presenting the budget on Thursday, Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel informed that an international standard stadium capable of hosting all sports will be built in Damak, Jhapa and high-altitude sports stadiums will be developed in Solukhumbu, Mustang and Jumla.

The government has allocated Rs400 million for the upgrade of TU International Cricket Ground, and Rs420 million for the completion of cricket stadiums under construction in Mulpani, Kailali, Chitwan and Morang districts. Moreover, the government has guarante...
