Kathmandu, May 29 -- The government has allocated Rs18.5 billion for the reconstruction of private housing, schools, public infrastructure, and archaeological and cultural heritage damaged by earthquakes and monsoon-related disasters.

Presenting the budget for the fiscal year 2025-26, Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel said the government will prioritise the development of early warning systems and focus on enhancing the capacity of human resources involved in disaster management and response.
