Kathmandu, April 12 -- The Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal on Thursday postponed its national convention, citing lack of preparations. The party also called the meeting of its office-bearers on April 21 to finalise another date.

The RJP-N was formed after the merger of six fringe Madhes-based parties two years ago. Its leaders were seeking an 'excuse' to postpone its first national convention scheduled for April 20-22.

The meeting, led by the party's presidium coordinator Sharat Singh Bhandari, also decided to form a National Convention Main Organising Committee under Mahantha Thakur.
