Kathmandu, May 29 -- The government has allocated Rs6.08 billion for the youth and sports sector for fiscal year 2025-26, the highest ever for the sector. This marks an increase of Rs258 million from the current fiscal year.
Presenting the budget on Thursday, Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel said investment in sports infrastructure and athlete professionalism would increase, with private sector involvement encouraged.
An international standard stadium capable of hosting all sports will be built in Damak, Jhapa. High-altitude sports stadiums will be developed in Solukhumbu, Mustang, and other Himalayan districts.
