Kathmandu, Oct. 27 -- President Ramchandra Paudel performed Chhath Puja at Guheshwari in Kathmandu on Monday, offering prayers to the Sun God and Chhathi Mata on the occasion of the Chhath festival.
Continuing the annual tradition, the President worshipped the setting sun and offered arghya at Guheshwari temple, which was beautifully decorated for the festival.
Prime Minister Sushila Karki also observed the festival by offering arghya to the setting sun at Kamalpokhari.
The Chhath festival, celebrated every year from Kartik Shukla Chaturthi to Saptami, is marked by devotees worshipping the rising and setting sun for prosperity and well-being.
