Kathmandu, Jan. 16 -- The Metropolitan Police Beat, Naghdhunga, have seized tax-evaded mobile phones worth millions of rupees in the span of one week.

On January 11, during a routine security check at the entry point of Kathmandu, police confiscated around 75 mobile phones of different companies, including Apple and Samsungs, from a bus en route to Kathmandu from Birgunj.

"No one was arrested as no one claimed ownership of the phones," said Inspector Hemanta Bikram Thapa, chief at the Thankot police beat. "As the bus carrying passengers, we could not investigate further in details."

Similarly, on January 12, police confiscated 32 phones of different at Nagdhunga.

"Again, no one claimed ownership of the phones and no arrest was made. W...
