Kathmandu, March 28 -- Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will address the House of Representatives on Monday. The understanding was reached on Friday following a discussion involving Speaker Devraj Ghimire and chief whips of ruling and opposition parties.

The House deadlock began after Monday's Cabinet meeting dismissed Nepal Electricity Authority's Managing Director Kulman Ghising. In response, opposition parties have obstructed parliamentary proceedings, demanding that the prime minister himself provide a satisfactory explanation.

The government had proposed that either the relevant minister or the deputy prime minister respond on its behalf, but the opposition insisted that only the prime minister's statement would be acceptable.
