Tanahun, Jan. 31 -- A woman was killed, and 13 others were injured when a bus overturned in Abukhaireni Rural Municipality-1, Tanahun, on Friday afternoon.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Ashok Thapa, the bus overturned on a culvert after the driver lost control of the vehicle. The bus was heading to Mugling from Damauli.

Sumina Sapkota, 22, of Bharatpur Metropolitan City, Chitwan, died in the crash. She was declared dead at Abukhaireni Hospital.

Police have taken bus driver Rabindra Ghale, 35, of Bhanu Municipality-5, into custody.

Damanti Thapa, 42, of Abukhaireni-3, sustained facial injuries and has been referred to Narayani Community Hospital in Chitwan for further treatment.
