APF had defeated Friends' Club Kopundole, Church Boys United, Sankata FC and Jawalakhel Youth Club previously. NRT, meanwhile, had won four matches and lost once in their last five matches before facing APF.

Thus, the draw on Tuesday was the first for both APF and NRT. With the goalless draw, the two shared a point each.
