Kathmandu, Aug. 10 -- North Korea hammered Nepal 11-0 in Thimphu, Bhutan, on Sunday to finish top of Group A in the AFC U20 Women's Asian Cup Qualifiers and secure their place in the mega event to held in 2026 in Thailand.

The three-time world and two-time Asian champions dominated the match from start to finish, earning their third consecutive win of the campaign. They had earlier defeated Saudi Arabia 15-0 and hosts Bhutan 10-0, ending the group stage with nine points.

The heavy loss left Nepal with four points from three matches, following a 1-1 draw with Bhutan and a 1-0 victory over Saudi Arabia. Their final group position will depend on the result of Sunday's later fixture between Bhutan and Saudi Arabia.
