Kathmandu, Dec. 28 -- The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) recorded a strong upswing on Sunday, the first trading day of the week, with the benchmark index jumping by 47.55 points compared with Thursday.
The 1.83 percent rise pushed the index to 2,633.42 points, marking a return above the 2,600-point threshold after four trading sessions.
The market had slipped to 2,595.10 points last Sunday following a 19.92-point drop. Although the two most recent sessions before Sunday had posted marginal gains, they were not sufficient to lift the benchmark past the psychological barrier until the latest jump.
