Kathmandu, June 8 -- The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index dropped by 11.06 points on Sunday, closing at 2,629.89. The 0.41 percent fall reflects a weak start to the trading week, with most sectors ending in the red.

A total of 19,992,181 shares were traded in 86,636 transactions, generating a turnover of Rs9.13 billion.

Out of the listed companies, share prices of 86 rose, while 162 declined. According to NEPSE, only the Hydropower and Hotels & Tourism sub-indices posted gains, while all other sectors ended in negative territory, contributing to the overall market dip.

River Falls Power Limited and Pure Energy were notable performers, each gaining 10 percent during the session.
