Kathmandu, July 15 -- The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index climbed by 34.46 points on Tuesday, closing at 2,760.17, up 1.26 percent from the previous trading session.

The gain follows a 35-point loss recorded on Monday, as investor sentiment rebounded strongly.

According to NEPSE figures, share prices of 209 companies increased, while 39 declined. All trading subgroups closed in positive territory, with notable investor interest in non-life insurance, insurance, hotels and tourism, and development banks. The mutual fund subgroup remained stable.

Tuesday's trading session saw a total of 74,057 transactions, with 26.5 million shares changing hands. The total turnover stood at Rs9.42 billion.
