Kathmandu, June 16 -- The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) recorded a modest gain of 2.80 points on Monday, closing at 2,658.66. The index edged up by just 0.10 percent compared to the previous session, reflecting a day of cautious optimism in the market.
Despite the minor uptick in the benchmark index, the trading volume was notably high, reaching Rs13.18 billion-up from Sunday's total of Rs11.44 billion. This marked the highest daily turnover in over three and a half months.
According to NEPSE, a total of 33.64 million shares were traded in 105,635 transactions. Market performance was mixed, with the share prices of 124 companies increasing and an equal number declining.
