Kathmandu, June 30 -- The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index posted a modest rise on Monday, increasing by 9.19 points to close at 2,631.48, marking a 0.35 percent gain from the previous session.

Market activity remained moderate, with investors executing 63,371 transactions involving 14,172,525 shares, resulting in a total turnover of approximately Rs6.39 billion.

Of the listed companies, 145 saw gains, while 103 recorded losses, reflecting a balanced yet cautious sentiment among investors.

Among the 13 sub-indices, sectors such as finance, hotel and tourism, hydropower, and others closed in the red. In contrast, manufacturing and processing, life insurance, and non-life insurance posted gains.
