Kathmandu, April 2 -- The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index surged by 23.86 points on Wednesday, reaching 2700.04 points, a 0.89 percent increase. This marks a recovery from a decline of 16.95 points on Tuesday, which had brought the index down to 2676.17 points.

In total, 166 companies saw their stock prices increase, while 78 companies experienced a decline in value. The total trading volume amounted to Rs5.44 billion, with 53,884 transactions recorded. A total of 10,442,683 shares were traded throughout the day.
