Kathmandu, May 18 -- The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index declined for the sixth consecutive trading day on Sunday, dropping by 2.69 points to close at 2,609.05. This marks a 0.10 percent fall, extending the market's recent downward trend that began on May 8.

Investor sentiment remained mixed, with 100 companies seeing their share prices rise, 145 declining, and one remaining unchanged.

According to NEPSE, the total daily turnover stood at Rs8.51 billion, generated through 79,893 transactions. A total of 16.9 million shares were traded during the session.

Despite the overall decline, a few sub-indices posted gains. The microfinance, others, and hotels & tourism subgroups closed in the green, while all other sectors recorded losses. ...
