Kathmandu, Jan. 8 -- The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) inched up by 4.59 points on Thursday, recovering modestly after a sharp fall in the previous session, even as overall trading turnover declined.
The benchmark index closed at 2,640.54 points, up 0.17 percent from Wednesday's close of 2,635.94 points, when the market had dropped by 13.35 points.
Market data show that out of all traded companies, share prices of 129 increased, 115 declined and 15 remained unchanged. With gainers slightly outnumbering losers, the overall index managed a marginal rise.
A total of 10.43 million shares were traded in 69,261 transactions, generating a turnover of Rs4.90 billion. This was lower than Wednesday's trading volume of Rs5.17 billion, indicating r...
