Kathmandu, July 31 -- The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) Index fell by 31.50 points on Thursday, closing at 2,922.63 as the week's final trading session ended in the red. The decline marks a 1.06 percent drop compared to the previous day, continuing the market's downward trend.

Out of the companies traded, 198 saw a decline in their share prices, while only 52 managed to register gains.

A total of 36.87 million shares were exchanged in 168,594 transactions, generating a turnover of Rs15.98 billion. This marks a decline in trading volume and turnover compared to Wednesday, when the total turnover stood at Rs16.44 billion.
