Kathmandu, June 19 -- The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index dropped by 24.76 points on Wednesday, closing at 2,628.91. The decline of 0.93 percent marked the third consecutive day of market losses, following a fall of 3.90 points on Tuesday and 1.07 points on Monday.

Despite the downturn, market activity remained strong. NEPSE reported a total daily turnover of Rs11.23 billion from 121,551 transactions. Around 29.4 million shares were traded across listed companies, reflecting continued investor engagement.

Out of all listed stocks, 201 companies saw an increase in their share prices, while 47 experienced a decline. However, all 13 trading subgroups closed in the red.
