Kathmandu, May 13 -- The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index dropped by 14.87 points on Tuesday, closing at 2,634.23.

The fall, equivalent to a 0.56 percent decline, marks the third consecutive trading session in which the benchmark index has lost ground.

According to NEPSE, market momentum continued to weaken amid declining investor confidence. On the day, share prices of 77 companies rose, while 168 declined. One company's share price remained unchanged.

A total of 21.8 million shares changed hands in 102,445 transactions, bringing the day's turnover to Rs9.63 billion.

All sectoral indices except development banks, life insurance, and manufacturing & processing ended in negative territory, contributing to the overall market downturn....
