Kathmandu, April 17 -- The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index surged by 26.49 points on Thursday, closing at 2,722, marking a solid finish to the week's final trading day.

The trading volume also saw a notable uptick. A total of Rs10.79 billion worth of shares changed hands, a significant increase from Wednesday's Rs7.26 billion.

All sector indices rose except for the trading subgroup, which dipped slightly by 0.15 percent. The investment sector led the day's gains, rising by 2.99 percent.

Among individual stocks, Nepal Microinsurance and Crest Micro Life Insurance saw their prices rise by the daily limit of 10 percent. HIDCL gained 6.82 percent, Super Madi Hydropower climbed 6.67 percent, and Corporate Development Bank rose 5.84 perce...
