Kathmandu, July 21 -- The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) Index rose by 21.76 points to close at 2,892.72 on Monday, marking a 0.75 percent increase compared to the previous trading day.

Of the companies that traded, 153 saw their share prices rise while 96 declined. A total of 35.65 million shares were exchanged in 138,828 transactions, amounting to a total turnover of Rs16.32 billion.

While Monday's turnover was significant, it was lower than Sunday's Rs21.5 billion, reflecting a slight dip in trading activity despite overall market growth.

All 13 sub-indices posted gains, contributing to the day's market rally. The broad-based increase in sectoral indices helped lift investor sentiment and provided momentum for the overall market.
