Kathmandu, May 12 -- Nepal cruised into the semi-finals of the U-19 SAFF Championship with a dominant 5-0 win over Sri Lanka at Golden Jubilee Stadium in Arunachal Pradesh, India, on Sunday.

The victory sees Nepal join India, who also secured three points, as both teams now prepare to clash for top spot in Group B.

Sri Lanka's hopes were dashed as they were eliminated with two consecutive losses. Nepal's goals came from Sujan Dangol, Dharmendra Kunwar, Subash Bam, Bigyan Khadka, and Lakshu Thapa. Sujan opened the scoring in injury time of the first half, converting a cross from Ram Thapa. Dharmendra doubled the lead in the 61st minute, followed by Subash's strike in the 77th.
