Nepal, May 20 -- Nepal ended their dismal World Rafting Championships at the Tully River in Queensland in a lowly 10th place on Sunday.

In only their second participation in the championships, Nepal did manage to pull off better showing than 2017 event in Japan where they had finished in 13th place. Their sixth place finish in downriver rafting on Sunday lifted them to overall 10th having started the fourth and final even in 13th place.

In all, 16 teams competed in the event this year with Japan winning the title with 909 points ahead of Russia and New Zealand. Brazil had also won the championships in 2007, 2009, 2013, 2015 and 2017.
