Pokhara, Feb. 2 -- Nepal kept their hopes of reaching the final of the SAFF U19 Women's Championship alive with a 2-1 victory over Bhutan at Pokhara Stadium on Monday.
Nepal took the lead in the 36th minute through Srijana Baduwal, who capitalised on sustained pressure as the hosts dominated much of the first half. Despite creating several chances, Nepal were unable to add to their advantage before the break.
Nepal doubled their lead in the 69th minute when Prajita Rai, who had come on for Sangita Malla in the 27th minute, found the back of the net. Bhutan pulled one goal back late in the match, with Sonam Choden scoring in the 87th minute, but it proved too little, too late.
