Kathmandu, Jan. 24 -- The Nepali Communist Party (NCP) has expelled seven leaders, including Haribol Gajurel, for going against official candidates in the upcoming House of Representatives elections.
NCP coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal, in a statement issued on Saturday, said that the action was taken under clause 106 of the party statute as a disciplinary measure. The party described the candidacies as "rebellious", filed in defiance of official decisions and directives.
Those expelled are Haribol Gajurel (Sindhuli), Maheshwar Dahal (Sindhuli), Kul Prasad KC (Dang), Major Rai (Udayapur), Dharmanath Sah (Siraha), Rajkumari Sah (Siraha), and Jibachha Sah (Siraha). The disciplinary action has included the rebel candidates, their proposers,...
