Nawalpur, May 6 -- Traffic along the Narayanghat-Butwal road section at Daunne came to a standstill on Tuesday after rainfall made parts of the under-construction highway muddy and impassable.

The disruption occurred near Bishwakarma Temple and a bend in ward 2 of Binayi Tribeni Rural Municipality, where the road surface turned dangerously slippery, RSS reported, quoting the District Traffic Police Office.

"All vehicular movement has been suspended due to safety concerns," said Police Inspector Janakraj Banjara, head of the district traffic office. "Once the rain subsides, a bulldozer will be deployed to clear the mud and restore traffic."
