Kathmandu, Oct. 23 -- National Assembly Chairperson Narayan Prasad Dahal has said that Nepal is committed to strengthening democracy by ensuring the timely conduct of elections.

Dahal, who is in Geneva, Switzerland, to attend the 151st Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly, made the remarks during a bilateral meeting with an Indian parliamentary delegation led by Anurag Singh Thakur.

According to Dahal's Secretariat, he briefed the Indian delegation on the recent Gen Z demonstrations in Nepal, the formation of an interim government, and the announcement of fresh elections to the House of Representatives scheduled for March 5, 2026.
