Tanahun, July 13 -- Keshav Bahadur Thapa of Byas Municipality Ward No. 9 in Tanahun lost his entire family in a landslide that occurred early Monday morning.

"It was around 6:30 in the morning when I was awakened by a loud sound. Our house collapsed on us," he said. "I was half-buried and I looked around but could not see my wife, sons and my daughter-in-law anywhere."

One of his sons, a 24-year-old, was supposed to leave for Kathmandu on Monday before leaving for Dubai for foreign employment, said Thapa. "He had packed his luggage and visited his relatives on Sunday evening. They recovered his body from the debris along with the bodies of my wife and daughter-in-law."

The body of his other son was recovered later on Monday evening.
