Kathmandu, Oct. 5 -- Floods and landslides triggered by three days of continuous rainfall have blocked major highways and key roads connecting Kathmandu Valley.

According to Superintendent of Police Naresh Raj Subedi, spokesperson for the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, all entry points into the Capital remained closed as of Sunday morning.

Landslides at Bhaktapur's Sanga along Araniko Highway, at Takuche and Tika Bhairav along the Kanti Highway in Bagmati Rural Municipality of Lalitpur have halted traffic. A massive landslide has also blocked the road at Dharke in Sitapaila, while the route from Kapan's Aakase Dhara to Baluwakhani is closed.
