Kathmandu, Sept. 15 -- The forensic department of Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj, has completed post-mortem examinations on 28 bodies of the people killed during the Gen-Z protest last week.
According to department chief Dr Gopal Chaudhary, a total of 46 bodies have been brought to the hospital so far. Of these, 23 have been identified and handed over to families, while seven remain unrecognisable and will require DNA testing for confirmation.
In such cases, forensic teams also rely on dental records and fingerprints.
Chaudhary noted that the victims had sustained gunshot wounds, burns and blunt injuries.
He added that the department is continuing post-mortem work as bodies are referred by the authorities.
