Janakpur, April 4 -- The deadlock in the Madhesh Provincial Assembly ended following a Friday cross-party meeting mediated by Speaker Ramchandra Mandal. The dispute stemmed from allegations that provincial ministers had awarded projects in exchange for commissions.
The meeting concluded with an agreement that the relevant ministers would address these charges at the provincial assembly session on April 9.
A parliamentary investigation committee will be formed if their responses are deemed unsatisfactory.
