Dhanusha, Feb. 18 -- Madhesh Province Chief Minister Saroj Kumar Yadav secured a vote of confidence from the provincial assembly for the third time on Sunday.

As many as 69 members of the 107-strong assembly voted in favour of the chief minister while 35 members stood against the trust motion.

The ruling Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Centre), Janata Samjabdi Party, Loktantrik Samajbadi Party, CPN (Unified Socialist), Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Nepal Samajbadi Party, Nagarik Unmukti Party and independent lawmakers voted for the chief minister. The CPN-UML and Janamat Party voted against him in the floor test.

A total of 104 provincial lawmakers were present in today's meeting.
