Surkhet, May 19 -- Eighteen families have been displaced after a flood and landslide struck Tilgaun in ward 6 of Namkha Rural Municipality, Humla district, on Thursday night, according to local authorities.

Chief District Officer Narayan Pandey said two houses were damaged in the incident and the affected families had been relocated to a safer site.

"The incident occurred around 11pm, but due to the remoteness of the area and delayed access, the news came out late," Pandey told the Post.
