Kathmandu, March 13 -- Kathmandu Metropolitan City has reported the rescue of 74 children over the past 11 months, from mid-April 2024 to mid-March 2025.

According to Shanta Pahadi, a child welfare officer at the metropolis, the children rescued include 41 boys and 33 girls.

Among the rescued children, 38 have been placed in child protection homes, while 34 have been reunited with their families.

Following these rescues, seven cases have been brought forward for judicial processing, with charges involving four cases of sexual assault, two of child sexual abuse, and one involving physical assault and forced labour.
