Kathmandu, Oct. 3 -- The Kathmandu District Administration Office has asked people not to travel in and out of the Valley by road at night from October 3 to 6, citing forecasts of heavy rainfall and possible disasters.

Assistant Chief District Officer Ashok Kumar Bhandari said the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has warned of heavy downpours that could trigger floods, landslides, and soil erosion in vulnerable areas. He urged residents to stay put and avoid long-distance travel unless absolutely necessary.

"It is requested that those travelling out of Kathmandu and entering Kathmandu from outside refrain from travelling at night," Bhandari said in a public notice.
