Kathmandu, Nov. 13 -- Home Secretary Rameshwar Dangal on Thursday conferred insignia on newly appointed Inspector General of Nepal Police (IGP) Dan Bahadur Karki at a ceremony held at the Ministry of Home Affairs.
A Cabinet meeting on Monday decided to promote Additional Inspector General (AIG) Karki to the security force's top post.
He assumed office as the 33rd IGP of Nepal Police from today, succeeding outgoing IGP Chandra Kuber Khapung, who retired after completing his tenure.
Karki joined the Nepal Police as an inspector on March 31, 1998. He was promoted to AIG on April 28 this year and had been serving as the chief of the Kathmandu Valley Police Office since September 9. Among the candidates for promotion were AIGs Rajan Adhikar...
