Kathmandu, June 13 -- The Judicial Council has recommended the appointment of four judges as chief judges for various high courts.

In its meeting on Friday, the council proposed judge Rajan Prasad Bhattarai of the Janakpur High Court (temporary bench Birgunj) as chief judge of the Biratnagar High Court.

Similarly, Lal Bahadur Kunwar of the High Court Patan, has been recommended to serve as the chief judge in the same court. Hari Prasad Bhandari, currently serving on deputation at the High Court Tulsipur and posted at the High Court Biratnagar (temporary bench Okhaldhunga), has been proposed as the chief judge of the Surkhet High Court.
